I'm not going to say anything about this google ad. Just watch it. It will melt your heart.
Off to San Fran for the weekend for a little R&R, a visit to the tartine bakery and hopefully a dance marathon in the mission. Have a safe and lovely weekend! xo
Jennifer Trausch

Jennifer Trausch is a New York-based photographer whose day job is operating the legendary 20×24 Polaroid camera at the Polaroid Studio in lower Manhattan. Trausch is a graduate Cleveland Institute of Art where she majored in photography and was an apprentice to Gregory Colbert (Ashes and Snow). She is a master large-format printer and she works primarily with large format cameras. She takes photos of the things that delight me; honeybee farms, southern po-dunk carnivals and vintage rollerskating rinks. The photos below are from her most recent project at Skateland. If you want to dig deeper, check out Jennifer's personal recollections of her days on set in the South here; accompanied by a picture slide show. Enjoy!

Banner Banter

Because we should celebrate the everyday is Bantar Banners motto, and girl, do I agree! At ten bucks a pop, these little idioms can spice up your mantel, headboard or plain colored wall. I am coveting the joie de vivre one and have already dreamed up the exact place for it in my apartment!
(Thanks RB for the heads up!)

I am consistently amazed at the vastness of le internet these days, and how many a to zed blogs grace the interweb. That being said, there are a handful of blogs that I use as my daily inspiration and I'd like to share some of my favorites with you!
Ms. Caroline of The Space In Between is a maker of all things art and resides in the mecca of hipness, Brooklyn! She is a Libra (just like me) and posts the coolest new music, art, and fashion inspiration. Caroline has graced LPC's presence once already, and I hope many more times in the future!
Lily @ bigBang studio is incredible. She lives in Joshua Tree and is painter/writer/photographer/cowgirl/gardner/petite chef/wife/mother-of-two dogs and (lucky for me) my best friend. Lily blogs about art, the desert, recipes, her animals, and her adventures! She is a constant inspriation for all things choue and guest blogged here and gave LPC an honorable mention here.
RIFLE is a paper goods, design, and illustration company headed up by Anna Bond and based in Winter Park, FL. Ms. Anna and rifle specialize in custom, hand drawn stationery but also do various other things ranging from branding to illustration. RIFLE is planning on launching an online store & stationery line this coming Fall (which I am counting down the days for) as well as opening up a storefront in Winter Park. (I am jealous of all who reside there!)

Tonight is the night! The Joan Jett/Cherie Currie (starring Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning - what!?) Bio Pic opens tonight and I am counting down the hours until B and I head to the theater to finally see THE RUNAWAYS! Does it really get any better than girl rock and roll on a Friday night?
Have a great weekend, everyone!

I refuse to call this post, Eat Pray Love. I will be honest here. I picked up that book and was very excited to read it and by page 10, put it down again. My gaggle of best girl friends (who are very different readers than myself) agreed and we put the book to bed. NOW this bad-ass Julia Roberts trailer has to come out and has me second guessing myself. I am a total lush for anything/all Julia (I cried when she won the oscar. For a day.) so I guess I'll be seeing this opening night with a bar of chocolate and my feelings.
What do you all think? Did you read the book? Should I give it a second chance?

The Luck of the Irish
2
Wednesday, March 17, 2010
My last name is Sullivan, and I am Irish and I love St. Patrick's Day. As a child I would force my mother to dress me from head to toe in all shades of green (mint green shamrock socks, a forest green tutu and an electric green cardigan were among the mix). Upon flinging the door open to go to school, my brother and I would discover that the leprechauns had left a pot of gold (chocolate, but gold to a 6 year old no less)coins on our front porch and a note that dared us to follow the rainbow to find other trinkets and treasures that had been left for us around our yard. I give my parents a lot of credit for making holidays so magical for us kids and I might begin my own silverlake neighborhood treasure hunt before you know it...
Happy St. Patrick's Day, everyone!

Funky fresh Dutch DJ Tiësto’s new fourth studio album Kaleidoscope comes with a variety of collaborative vocal guests spots including Jónsi of Sigur Rós, Kele of Bloc Party, Nelly Furtado, Calvin Harris, Emily Haines, and most importantly, Tegan & Sara. Tiësto gave T&S a track, they wrote lyrics and vocal lines for it, and he finished it up in his Holland studio. The result is a pop electro fusion of Tiësto's house beats and Tegan and Sara's brilliant lryics. I promise you this song will make your heart dance. Check it out below!
And as a bonus, check out how La Blogotheque so beautifully captures Feel it in my bones, acoustic style. Directed by Philippe Tremblay-Berberi, sound by Philippe Roberge. Shot in Montreal. Enjoy.

I'm Back!
1
Mon amours! I realize I have taken quite a long blog respite, but I'm back and won't leave you again. I promise. That being said, I have the best news ever for you. I have just been told that Anthropologie will be launching a wedding brand in 2011, complete with wedding gowns, bridesmaid dresses, jewelry, shoes, lingerie, invitations, decorations, gifts--the whole shebang. And no, I'm not joking. This is real, folks. Just breathe.
