When it snows

I saw Miike Snow (yes, to ii's!) last night at Spaceland and let. me. tell. YOU! This dude is so talented that 1/2 the crowd left when his set was finished (they were the openers!) The band started playing in full on masks and jumpsuits and it doesn't get much better than dancing to any of his songs, especially my favorite, "Animal". Check out the music video below. I dare your toes not to start tappin'!

This weekend is filled with a treasure hunt downtown (will report on that Monday morning), our first book club meting, and a petite inspirational photo shoot. Oh, and baking! (get excited Asher!) L.A. lovin'

Some friends recently passed on this fantastic website (thanks Dana & Ella!)that I can't stop reading. It's called "100 Things to Try in L.A. Before you Die" and it's encroyable!


It lists everything from grabbing some cocktail punch at the Radio Room in the Edison,to paddle boating at Echo Park Lake, to ordering the Junk food dessert platter at Simon LA! (um, cotton candy and cupcakes, yes please!) Check out this awesome website here and enjoy!

Lazy Monday

I am feeling a lot like Ms. Deschanel this morning. {now, if only I had her adorable outfit to feel lazy in!} Getting out of bed proved extremely difficult after an incredible weekend filled with many firsts including:

- My very first Pho Siam massage {east side L.A.-ers, you must check this place out - one hour Thai massage for $40!}
- My very first trip to Jose Andre's swanky Hollywood restaurant, Bazaar {my favorite was the cotton candy foie gras!}
- My very first time brunching at Mille's cafe {i highly recommend the banana walnut pancakes!)
- My very first beach cruise of the fall season
- My very first Girls Roller Derby game at the Doll Factory Downtown
- My first trip to La Cita {awesome bar. cheap drinks. the best!}

Derby Girl

After seeing an early screening of WHIP IT, I have decided that working at a movie studio is no longer for me. I instead would like to become a Roller Derby Girl. I find this to be a much more rewarding life plan which will consist of figuring out my roller derby name, getting to wear ripped tights every day (my dream) and putting my pink and white roller skates to a most excellent use. I am going to actually see how violent this sport is this Saturday at the Doll Factory in Downtown L.A. I can't wait!
