Music Monday: The Vivian Girls

The Vivian Girls are, in short, AWESOME. The Brooklyn based trio includes drummer Fiona Campbell, guitarist Cassie Ramone and bassist Kickball Katy Goodman (best.name.ever!) These tough chicks are not your average girl group, and would probably get ticked if you called them that. The Vivian Girls are a  touch of the Supremes with a dash of Bye Bye Birdie and a pinch of Joan Jett. Check out their new music video below, Take it as it comes, which features the girls giving advice on how to deal with rotten deceiving boys. Totally delicious and pop-fun.Enjoy!

Bittersweet Melodies

Unequivocally crazily unabashedly excited does not even do the feeling I have about Feist's new album justice. Metals is released on October 4th and Feist will tour this fall throughout the United States and abroad. (L.A. people: The Wiltern. 11/22. BE THERE!)

Music Monday: When the Stars Collide

What do Chloe Moertz, (LET ME IN) Miranda Cosgrove (ICARLY) and Alia Shawkat (ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT) have in common? They are all in Best Coasts' new music video, Our Deal, directed by the ever-so-talented Drew Barrymore. I have to say, I think this video is one of the *coolest* things I've seen in a long time. The marriage of Best Coast's timeless tune with Barrymore's edgy pop sensibility equals a pretty, if I do say so myself, kick ass video. If 2011 had a West Side Story, it would be this video. Watch below and enjoy!

Thirst Quenching Summer Goodness

It's hot and sticky outside and sometimes I just do not feel like walking to the grocery store to whip up a meal. It's so much easier to just stay inside and order take out from down the street. However, I do find I'm always more satisfied when I prepare my own food and it's a money and calorie saver to boot. When I feel the laziness settling in, I've started looking up recipes or glancing at healthy food photography to motivate me and it's been working!
